Engineering Manager (all genders)

Zalando · Germany - Ansbach, Remote Work

As our Engineering Manager for the Data Enablement Team, you are a player-coach. Your mission is to lead a high-caliber team of Data Engineers in building our Centralized Data Lakehouse from the ground up. We are moving away from fragmented data silos towards a unified, high-quality Data Product architecture. You will be the driving force behind our technical execution. While you lead the team, you aren't afraid to dive into the architecture or review complex Spark jobs. You ensure that our platform is not just a theoretical concept but a high-performance engine that delivers reliable insights. You will also ensure that we are perfectly integrated into the Zalando ecosystem, maintaining a lean and efficient exchange with their Data Foundation. WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)  Hands-on Leadership: You lead, mentor, and hire a team of Data Engineers. You are a "maker" at heart who leads by example, promoting trunk-based development and high engineering standards. Platform Execution: You own the delivery of our Data Roadmap. You ensure the successful rollout of our Medallion architecture on Databricks and AWS. Operational Excellence: You focus on the "run" as much as the "build." You drive initiatives to optimize storage costs and implement automated data retention policies. Ecosystem Integration: You ensure Tradebyte’s data strategy aligns with the broader Zalando Group standards while maintaining our speed and independence. Data Contracts & Quality: You work with source system owners (e.g., TB.One) to ensure robust Data Contracts and end-to-end reliability from ingestion to the Gold layer. Technical Governance: You oversee the Unity Catalog implementation, ensuring security and governance are "built-in" features, not afterthoughts. WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF  The "Maker" Mindset: You have a strong background in Data Engineering and have transitioned into leadership without losing your technical edge. You can still hold your own in a deep-dive technical discussion about Spark optimization or Terraform. Courageous Leadership: You have the confidence to challenge the status quo. If a process is inefficient or a technical direction is flawed, you speak up. You prioritize building the right solution over the easy one. Experience with Scale: You’ve built or managed modern Lakehouse architectures (Databricks/AWS) and know how to move from PoC to a stable production environment. Pragmatic Problem Solver: You prioritize results over perfect slides. You know how to balance long-term architecture with the need for quick wins (like reducing cloud spend). Clear Communicator: You can translate technical challenges into actionable steps for the team and provide clear updates to internal stakeholders. Zalando Group Context: Experience in navigating quickly a large group ecosystem is a significant plus.

Staff Product Manager- Developer Experience US - Remote Apply About Us  dbt Labs is the pioneer of analytics engineering, helping data teams transform raw data into reliable, actionable insights. Since 2016, we’ve grown from an open source project into the leading analytics engineering platform, now used by over 90,000 teams every week, driving data transformations and AI use cases.  As of February 2025, we’ve surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and serve more than 5,400 dbt Platform customers, including AstraZeneca, Sky, Nasdaq, Volvo, JetBlue, and SafetyCulture.  We’re backed by top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, and Altimeter. At our core, we believe in empowering data practitioners: Reliable, high-quality data is the fuel that propels AI-powered data engineering.
AI is changing data work, fast. dbt’s data control plane keeps data engineers ahead of that curve. We empower engineers to deliver reliable, governed data faster, cheaper, and at scale. dbt Labs is now synonymous with analytics engineering, defining the modern data stack and serving as the data control plane for enterprise teams around the world. And we’re just getting started.. We’re growing fast and building a team of passionate, curious people across the globe. Learn more about what makes us special by checking out our values. About the Role The way data practitioners write, debug, and ship dbt code is changing fast — and you'll be the person shaping what that experience looks like at the frontier of AI-assisted development. As the Product Manager for Developer Experience, you will own the end-to-end developer workflow in dbt Cloud: the Studio IDE, Developer Agent (our AI coding assistant), the Cloud CLI, and the dbt VS Code Extension. Together, these surfaces are the primary daily touchpoint for tens of thousands of data practitioners worldwide — from seasoned analytics engineers writing complex SQL to newer practitioners who rely on AI to help them move faster and with more confidence. This role sits at the intersection of developer tooling and leading-edge AI. You will work in close partnership with the Fusion team — the engine powering dbt's next-generation compilation, intelligence, and platform capabilities — to ensure that our developer surfaces fully leverage Fusion's capabilities and that developer needs are represented in the Fusion roadmap. The tight feedback loop between Developer Experience and Fusion is core to how dbt Cloud will evolve, and you'll be a key architect of that relationship. This is a role for someone who has thought deeply about what makes IDEs and developer tools great, and who is excited to reimagine those workflows in an era where AI can lower the floor for new practitioners while raising the ceiling for experts. In This Role, You Will Own the developer experience roadmap across Studio IDE, Developer Agent, Cloud CLI, and the VS Code Extension — from near-term iteration to long-term vision. Partner deeply with the Fusion team to align on capabilities, surface Fusion-powered intelligence (SQL comprehension, compute, context) through developer-facing UX, and co-define the boundary between platform and product. Lead AI-native product development for Developer Agent — defining what a best-in-class AI coding assistant looks like for the full spectrum of dbt users, from expert analytics engineers to practitioners who are newer to code. This includes agentic workflows, context-aware suggestions, natural language interactions, and guided development experiences that meet users where they are. Drive IDE and tooling strategy informed by a deep understanding of modern development environments — think about what VS Code, Cursor, and other leading IDEs get right, and translate those instincts to the dbt Cloud context. Define and execute cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, and GTM teams to ship high-quality developer experiences on a predictable cadence. Build tight feedback loops with the dbt community and enterprise customers to continuously improve developer tools, with particular attention to power users and technical practitioners. Conduct market and user research to understand the competitive landscape for developer tooling and AI-assisted development, and bring sharp external perspective into the roadmap. Align developer experience investments to broader company goals, product-led growth metrics, and the Fusion platform strategy. What Success Looks Like Developer satisfaction and engagement metrics (activation, session depth, feature adoption) trending up across Studio, Canvas, CLI, and Developer Agent. Developer Agent is a differentiated, well-regarded AI coding experience for data practitioners — not just a feature, but a product. The Studio IDE and Canvas deliver a cohesive, fast, and intelligent development workflow powered by Fusion capabilities. Strong, trust-based execution partnership with the Fusion team: shared roadmap visibility, clear API contracts, and coordinated shipping. The Cloud CLI is a first-class product that developers actively choose, not a fallback. You're a Good Fit If You Have 5+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time spent on developer tools, IDEs, or technical platforms. Direct experience managing IDE or developer environment products — you have an informed point of view on what makes development tools excellent and where modern IDEs fall short. Demonstrated engagement with AI-powered development tools — you've used, studied, and formed strong opinions about AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cursor, Devin, etc.) and how they change the development experience. A strong technical foundation that allows you to work fluently with engineering partners, reason about system architecture, and contribute meaningfully to technical decisions. Experience conducting user research and translating developer feedback into prioritized, scoped product work. Excellent written and verbal communication — you can write a crisp spec, give a compelling demo, and synthesize complex tradeoffs for diverse audiences. Comfort working asynchronously as part of a distributed, remote team. You'll Have an Edge If You Have Hands-on experience with dbt or similar SQL-first transformation frameworks. Prior experience building or shipping AI agent features (agentic UX, multi-step LLM workflows, context management). Familiarity with LSP (Language Server Protocol), tree-sitter, or other IDE infrastructure primitives. Experience with CLI tooling and developer workflow automation. Background in open source software development or strong engagement with developer communities. Knowledge of modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, etc.) and the analytics engineering ecosystem.

ML/LLM Ops Engineer

Calimala.ai · Remote

Sitting between ML teams, LLM product squads, and platform engineering, this role is about building the foundations that make both traditional ML and modern LLM systems dependable at scale. With a mix of infrastructure, tooling, and experimentation workflow design, you’ll help clients move from promising models to robust, observable, and well-governed AI services. ML & LLM Ops Engineer Calimala partners with enterprises across the Gulf and Europe to design, build, and scale Data & AI teams. As an ML & LLM Ops Engineer, you’ll join a network of practitioners who understand how models are built—and what it takes to run them in production—whether that’s a classic forecasting model, a RAG pipeline, or an LLM-based copilot embedded in business workflows. This role sits at the heart of how ML and LLM solutions are deployed, monitored, and evolved. You’ll design and operate the tooling, pipelines, and platforms that support the full lifecycle—from experimentation and evaluation to deployment, guardrails, monitoring, and retraining. What you'll be doing As an ML & LLM Ops Engineer at Calimala, you’ll lead and support engagements where AI is a core part of the solution and reliability, safety, and cost all matter. One project might involve setting up a standardized ML platform across teams; another could focus on building and operating LLM-powered services with retrieval, prompt management, and evaluation loops. “We treat ML and LLM systems as living products: versioned, evaluated, monitored, and improved based on real-world behaviour—not just offline metrics.” You’ll work closely with ML Engineers, data engineers, platform teams, and security to define how models move from notebooks into production services. You’ll help implement CI/CD for ML and LLM pipelines, build feedback and evaluation loops (including human-in-the-loop where needed), and make sure platform decisions balance speed, control, security, and spend. Who we're looking for You’re comfortable working across infrastructure, ML tooling, and LLM-specific stacks. You enjoy designing systems that other teams build on, and you have a strong instinct for automation, observability, and clear standards—especially where AI touches real users and critical processes. You’ve likely worked in MLOps, platform, or applied AI environments where models had to be auditable and stable, not just impressive in demos. At Calimala, we value depth, accountability, and partnership—you take ownership of the ecosystems you build and help teams use them effectively and safely. Strong experience with MLOps practices and tooling across the model lifecycle Proficiency in Python and familiarity with core ML frameworks (e.g. scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost or similar) Hands-on experience deploying and operating LLM-based systems (e.g. RAG pipelines, prompt orchestration, vector stores, guardrails) Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Terraform) Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) for serving models and LLM services in production Familiarity with monitoring and logging for ML/LLM systems (service health, data/feature drift, model performance, LLM quality and safety signals) Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and its data/AI ecosystem; exposure to managed LLM services and/or open-source LLM stacks is a plus We’re looking for practitioners who see ML & LLM Ops as an enabler for teams: people who build platforms and practices that make it easier, safer, and faster to turn both traditional models and LLMs into dependable, production-grade systems.

We deploy self-driving industrial vehicles - specifically autonomous tuggers - to factories, warehouses, and other facilities throughout North America. To build this emergent technology, we are looking for innovative, motivated, and experienced leaders to join us and move this field forward. If you like to build, tinker, and create with a team of trusted and passionate colleagues, then Cyngn is the place for you. Key reasons to join Cyngn: We are small and big. With under 100 employees, Cyngn operates with the energy of a startup. On the other hand, we’re publicly traded. This means our employees not only work in close-knit teams with mentorship from company leaders—they also get access to the liquidity of our publicly-traded equity. We build today and deploy tomorrow. Our autonomous vehicles aren’t just test concepts—they’re deployed to real clients right now. That means your work will have a tangible, visible impact. We aren’t robots. We just develop them. We’re a welcoming, diverse team of sharp thinkers and kind humans. Collaboration and trust drive our creative environment. At Cyngn, everyone’s perspective matters—and that’s what powers our innovation. About this role : As a Deployment Engineer , you are the technical architect of a live customer site. You move beyond just "fixing" hardware to "optimizing" autonomy. You will lead the deployment lifecycle from the moment the hardware arrives until the customer signs off on a fully autonomous workflow. You will also be in charge of maintaining the fleet through tier 1 support and map maintenance. You are the primary technical point of contact for the customer on-site for any issues and implementing their needs. You will work closely with the customer solutions team to prepare beforehand for the deployment and then on site to ensure vehicles are installed at the customer site as requested. As part of this you will be a point of contact for the customer and a face of Cyngn to make sure they are comfortable using the vehicles. You will be the first to step in for needed fixes later and help with expansion and perfect use of the deployed fleets. \n Responsibilities Deployment & Field Operations Lead end-to-end deployment of autonomous robotic systems at customer facilities.
