The Department of Coloproctology was established in August 2002 and offers tertiary referral colorectal surgical services for all aspects of benign and malignant colorectal conditions, both elective and emergency. Complex advanced primary colorectal cancer and recurrent colorectal cancer are referred in from the SCAN area of South-east Scotland as well as from further afield. There is a busy service for Inflammatory bowel disease, TEMS, pelvic floor disorders and all general colorectal conditions. The post-holder would play a full role in the emergency, elective, endoscopic, outpatient and teaching activities of the colorectal department.
