BI Developer

BI Developer with strong expertise in MicroStrategy, Business Objects etc. to support the migration of enterprise data warehouse solutions from Teradata to Snowflake. The role will focus on repointing, rebuilding, optimizing, and validating BI reports and dashboards to ensure seamless integration with Snowflake and enable advanced analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the end-to-end development of scalable and secure data solutions supporting enterprise-wide BI initiatives.

Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions and actionable data models and dashboards.

Repoint, develop, redesign, and optimize BI dashboards and reports including advanced visualizations, data alerts, and report subscriptions in MicroStrategy, Business Objects using Snowflake as the backend.

Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure data models and pipelines align with BI requirements.

Migrate existing BI solutions from Teradata to Snowflake, ensuring data accuracy and performance optimization.

Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and testing to confirm successful migration.

Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into BI solutions.

Implement best practices for BI development, including governance, security, and scalability.

Provide support and troubleshooting for BI tools during and after migration.

Extract, transform, and load data from various sources using SQL and/or data integration tools.

Automate report generation and streamline manual reporting processes.

Ensure the accuracy, performance, and security of BI platforms.

Capture and document non-functional requirements, define architecture, prepare estimates, and define technical solutions.

Manage and mentor a team of BI developers, providing guidance, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities.

Oversee the day-to-day activities of direct reports, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met.

Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous learning and improvement

Technical Skills:

Strong hands-on experience in MicroStrategy, Business Objects etc tools

Strong experience with SQL and various database technologies (Oracle, Teradata SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).

Experience in analysing and converting Teradata-specific functions to Snowflake equivalents.

Data modelling (star/snowflake schemas, dimensional modelling)

Programming/scripting in Python, DAX, or R for data transformation and automation

Understanding data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.

Knowledge of Migration project like Teradata to Snowflake.

Experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell).

Familiarity with cloud platforms Azure with Snowflake integrations.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Experience in banking and financial services will be preferred.
