<p><strong>Policy Planning Officer needed in Stockport Paying 45 per hr ref 000B 057B / 1</strong></p>
<p><strong>Full time hours on a temporary basis</strong> </p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Contribute to the preparation, monitoring, review, and implementation of planning policies and related planning documents, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.</li>
<li>Lead and support the production and maintenance of Infrastructure Delivery Plans to inform future growth and development strategies.</li>
<li>Provide professional planning policy advice to colleagues, stakeholders, developers, consultants, and members of the public.</li>
<li>Prepare reports, evidence base documents, consultation materials, and policy papers to support plan-making activities.</li>
<li>Represent the organisation’s spatial planning interests throughout statutory planning processes, including participation in Examinations in Public where required.</li>
<li>Monitor, analyse, and interpret changes in planning legislation, national planning policy, regulations, and guidance, advising on their implications.</li>
<li>Assist in undertaking research, data analysis, monitoring, and evidence gathering to support policy development.</li>
<li>Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including planning authorities, infrastructure providers, developers, community groups, and government agencies.</li>
<li>Support public consultation and stakeholder engagement exercises relating to planning policy and strategic growth initiatives.</li>
<li>Contribute to the development of sustainable, deliverable, and evidence-based planning strategies.</li>
</ul>
