In addition to technical expertise, you will <strong>support company growth by identifying repair needs, recommending solutions, and driving additional service opportunities</strong> during and outside of service visits.<br><br> </div><div> <strong>Part-Time Position with strong potential to transition into a Full-Time role as the company continues to grow.<br></strong><br> </div><div> <strong>Responsibilities<br></strong><br> </div><ul> <li>Perform scheduled <strong>handyman repairs, general contracting tasks, and preventive home maintenance services</strong> efficiently and to high quality standards.<br><br> </li> <li> <strong>Troubleshoot common residential issues and safely perform minor repairs without direct supervision.<br></strong><br> </li> <li>Interact with customers in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner while <strong>building trust as a skilled home repair professional.<br></strong><br> </li> <li>Conduct safety checks and <strong>identify code, safety, or maintenance-related issues</strong> during service delivery.<br><br> </li> <li>Engage homeowners to explain repair findings, recommend solutions, and <strong>provide clear, ethical upsell opportunities.<br></strong><br> </li> <li>Participate in Door-to-Door outreach campaigns to introduce HomeSmiles services to new homeowners and neighborhoods.<br><br> </li> <li>Confidently speak with homeowners about preventive maintenance, <strong>repair prioritization</strong>, and the value of bundled services while closing sales opportunities.<br><br> </li> <li>Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicle in top condition.<br><br> </li> <li>Accurately complete service reports, <strong>document repairs performed </strong>and communicate findings clearly.<br><br> </li> <li>Ensure compliance with all HomeSmiles procedures, <strong>local building standards</strong>, and safety protocols.<br><br> </li> </ul><div> <strong>Qualifications<br></strong><br> </div><ul> <li>4<strong>+ years of hands-on experience</strong> in residential maintenance, handyman services, <strong>general contracting</strong>, home inspections, or related fields.<br><br> </li> <li> <strong>Demonstrated ability to perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and general repair work.<br></strong><br> </li> <li>Excellent mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.<br><br> </li> <li>Strong customer service skills with a dependable, solution-oriented attitude.<br><br> </li> <li>Ability to engage in consultative sales, <strong>explain repair needs clearly</strong>, and communicate value to homeowners.<br><br> </li> <li>Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and <strong>handle multiple service calls per day.<br></strong><br> </li> <li>Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.<br><br> </li> <li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in crawlspaces/attics, and perform physical tasks safely.<br><br> </li> <li>Tech-savvy with smartphone/tablet use for job tracking, photos, and reporting.<br><br> </li> </ul><div> <strong>Preferred Qualifications<br></strong><br> </div><ul> <li> <strong>Licensed Handyman or General Contractor (or actively working toward licensure).<br></strong><br> </li> <li> <strong>Extensive handyman or general contracting background</strong> in residential settings.<br><br> </li> <li>OSHA, trade certifications, or <strong>state-recognized contractor credentials</strong> are a plus.<br><br> </li> <li>Military or veteran experience highly valued.<br><br> </li> </ul><div><strong>Company Overview</strong></div><div>HomeSmiles is a fast-growing home services franchise providing bundled home maintenance and safety services in a single visit.
