COPYWRITER AND EDITOR (PHARMA/MEDTECH)

Location: Bedford, Massachusetts Job Type: Contract Compensation Range: $70 - 75 per hour We are seeking a strong Copywriter and Editor - particularly one comfortable working in a highly regulated, medically complex environment. On behalf of our client, a leading firm in the healthcare diagnostics industry, we are building a qualified talent pool of creative professionals who can navigate the delicate balance between compelling storytelling and stringent medical regulation to meet projected staffing needs. Please note that specific pay rates and project details will vary depending on the roles that arise. Responsibilities: Candidates will be expected to perform or lead the following functions depending on the specific role released: - Content Creation: Draft original, high-impact copy for promotional materials, product launches, and digital campaigns tailored to HCPs (Healthcare Professionals) and laboratory specialists. - Precision Editing: Conduct rigorous substantive and copy editing for accuracy, grammar, and brand voice, ensuring all content meets "eagle-eyed" standards. - Regulatory Alignment: Ensure all materials comply with strict industry regulations and internal legal/medical/regulatory (MLR) review processes. - Simplifying Complexity: Translate dense scientific data and technical specifications into clear, benefit-driven messaging without losing clinical integrity. - Collaboration: Work closely with marketing and scientific teams in Bedford to iterate on creative concepts and refine technical documentation. Qualifications: - Industry Experience: Proven track record (3+ years) specifically within the Pharma, Healthcare, MedTech, or Medical Device industries. - Contract Availability: Must be available for a 6 month contract engagement with possibility for extension. - Location: Ability to work on-site or in a hybrid capacity at our Bedford, MA headquarters. - The "Eagle Eye": Exceptional attention to detail; you catch the typos and compliance risks that others miss. - Adaptive Writing: Ability to switch between creative marketing prose and technical clinical accuracy. - Knowledge Base: Familiarity with AMA style and a solid understanding of the regulatory landscape (FDA, IVDR, etc.) is highly preferred.
