Job Summary
An electrician performs all types of electrical jobs throughout assigned locations or region. Electrical jobs include maintenance and installation of equipment and machinery used in production and manufacturing. Must be able to make simple sketches, diagrams, drawings, etc.
Job Responsibilities
Perform electrical work and repairs on industrial/mining equipment
Read and work from blueprints and drawings in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plant and quarry electric equipment with or without supervision
Install, adjust and maintain all electrical equipment, gauges and instruments
Troubleshoot, evaluate and coordinate electrical needs, repairs and modifications
Ensure that manufacturer’s standards of repair and maintenance are performed on all equipment
Repair and troubleshoot circuits, wiring, motors, starters, controllers, generators, switchboards, dynamotors, etc.
Take motors apart, rewind, clean, paint, lubricate, and assemble.
Make point and brush replacements and adjust commutator and slip rings.
Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualifications
5 years electrical maintenance experience
3 years experience in aggregate, cement or heavy industrial operations preferred
Power distribution experience or understanding up to 4,160 volts
Programmable logic control and digital drive experience
High school graduate
Prefer associates degree or equivalent in electrical maintenance experience
Able to read, write, and speak English
Bilingual a plus
5 years electrical maintenance experience
3 years of experience in aggregate, cement or heavy industrial operations preferred
Power distribution experience or understanding up to 4160 volts
Programmable logic control PLC and digital drive experience
High school graduate. Prefer Associates Degree or equivalent in electrical maintenance experience.
Be able to read, write and speak English
Bilingual a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Computer literate and able to use existing systems and grow into company networked program of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. SAP experiences a plus
Excellent communication skills and attention to details
Strong analytical/problem solving skills
Able to read and understand English sufficiently to be able to read technical information contained in manuals, reports and related instructions
Able to develop, read and use mechanical, electrical and structural sketches, blue prints and drawings
Electrical troubleshooting skills and experience with motor control circuits and relay logic
Able to prioritize tasks and work as a team member, as well as individually
Good mathematic/mechanical aptitude
Working Conditions
Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise and working outside
Must wear all necessary protective equipment while at the location
Must be able to work any shift or Schedule including nigths, weekends, holidays and on-call
Job Progression
Electrician A will possess all necessary skills to repair all electrical, analyzers, and instrumentation equipment in the plant
Electrician B will possess all necessary skills to repair all instrumentation and Analyzers in the plant with the expectation of developing Electrician A skill level over time.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree, and/or pulling of controls
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing to a significant degree
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
