<strong>Location: </strong>St Leonards on Sea<br><br><strong>Job Type:</strong> Permanent, Full-Time<br><br><strong>Hours:</strong> 38 hours per week (Overtime available)<br><br><strong>Salary:</strong> £40,000 – £50,000 per annum (Depending on experience)<br><br><strong>Start Date:</strong> Immediate start available<br><br>About the Role We are seeking a multi-skilled individual to join our client's modern machine shop.<br><br>This position offers a unique opportunity to progress into a <strong>dual role</strong>, acting as the crucial link between the commercial office and the manufacturing floor. The role will entail being:<br><br><ul><li><strong>An experienced CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator</strong> (3, 4, and 5-axis CNC Milling) looking to expand their knowledge into quality inspection and Aberlink CMM programming.<br><br></li></ul>And, over time, developing into:<br><br><ul><li><strong>An experienced Quality Inspector</strong> who possesses some CNC machining and programming experience.<br><br></li></ul> <br><br>Whether you are an experienced machinist, a quality inspector looking for a new challenge, or an Engineering graduate looking to transition into a varied, technical support role, we want to hear from you. If you have transferable skills and the ability to adapt, we encourage you to apply.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<ul><li><strong>CNC Machining:</strong> Program, set, and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC Milling machines.<br><br></li><ul><li><strong>Quality Control:</strong> Conduct in-process and final inspections using Aberlink Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).<br><br></li><li><strong>Technical Support & Coordination:</strong> Interpret engineering drawings to ensure production aligns with customer specifications, and assist in coordinating day-to-day office operations within a technical environment.<br><br></li><li><strong>Communication:</strong> Professionally represent the business to customers and suppliers, building strong relationships and handling communications with confidence.<br><br></li></ul></ul>Ideal Skills & Experience<ul><li><strong>Technical Foundation:</strong> An engineering qualification or proven hands-on experience in an engineering environment.<br><br></li><ul><li><strong>Machining Knowledge:</strong> Strong understanding of machining principles, with Fanuc-based controls and Haas machinery.<br><br></li><li><strong>CAD/CAM Software:</strong> Practical experience with EdgeCam, OneCnc, Alphacam, or Fusion 360 is highly advantageous.<br><br></li><li><strong>Quality & Inspection:</strong> Proven background in component inspection and familiarity with CMM tools.<br><br></li><li><strong>Office & IT Skills:</strong> Solid understanding of engineering office workflows, good IT literacy, and experience using Microsoft Office & Outlook.<br><br></li><li><strong>Autonomy:</strong> Ability to work with minimal supervision, follow instructions accurately, and thrive in both a high-precision workshop and a professional office environment.<br><br></li></ul></ul>Benefits<ul><li>Competitive salary of £40,000 – £50,000 (DOE)<br><br></li><ul><li>Company Pension Scheme<br><br></li><li>Overtime opportunities<br><br></li><li>Immediate start<br><br></li></ul></ul>
