Location: Springfield, IL (On-site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (5x8s) | On-call required | Floating required
Pay: $45-$55/hr
Job Summary
Now hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN (IR RN) for a hospital-based Medical Imaging team in Springfield, IL. This Interventional Radiology Nurse position supports IR procedures and provides high-quality pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care. Ideal for an IR Registered Nurse who is flexible, calm under pressure, and comfortable with call and floating.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for Interventional Radiology patients in a procedural setting
- Complete pre-procedure assessments, patient prep, IV/medications per orders, and patient education
- Monitor patients during and after procedures; recognize complications and escalate appropriately
- Assist physicians/techs during IR cases while maintaining safety and sterile precautions
- Support recovery, discharge readiness, and post-procedure instructions
- Document accurately in Cerner (assessments, interventions, outcomes)
- Float to other areas as assigned and participate in required on-call rotation
- Follow facility policies for safety, infection prevention, and quality standards
Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (required)
- Current RN credentials (required)
- Recent Interventional Radiology RN / IR Nurse experience (required)
- Able to meet on-call and floating requirements (required)
- Cerner charting experience (preferred)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
