Our local authority client is looking for candidates with Customer Service experience to join their friendly team, on a three month contract initially, on their elections helpline.
This role is office based. Maybe chance to work from home after training period but this will be decided after training period so you will need to be able to commute daily to Camborne offices.
The working hours are between 8.30am-6pm Monday to Friday. 7.5 hours a day, on a rota basis.

- £12.60ph ( £12.93ph after 12 weeks)

Responsibilities:
- Taking calls relating to customer queries and issues through a number of methods including telephone, email, letter and the customer portal
- Making bookings, processing payments and other tasks relating to outcome of enquires and calls.
- To communicate effectively with members of the public and colleagues in a clear and concise manner, taking into account the particular circumstances
- Deal with receipts of payments (for cash, cheques and card payments) and preparation of associated paperwork in an efficient and effective manner.
- Dealing with customer’s complaints in accordance with the process, advise customers of the applicable procedures, proactively resolving complaints wherever possible and recording them as advised and escalate to Service Recovery team if required.
- Contacting customers to monitor satisfaction and quality control checks.
Ideal Candidate:
- Will be experienced in using Microsoft office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, with good keyboard skills.
- Excellent customer service experience, within an office / commercial environment would be highly advantageous.
- Competent administrative skills
- Ideally experience within a call centre / helpdesk environment
- Happy to work under pressure
- Be able to organise and priorities own caseload.
- Confident dealing with complaints and happy to do so.
- Have ability to research, analyse and report information.
- An understanding of how local government works would be preferable but not essential.
- You must be able to commit to working in the office in Camborne.
