Our client is seeking an Oscillator Design Engineer to lead the development of high-performance OCXO products with ultra-low phase noise and exceptional g-sensitivity performance.
This role offers deep technical ownership, hands-on design and test work, and end-to-end responsibility from concept through production.
Position SummaryThe Oscillator Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering OCXO and oscillator products that meet demanding performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements. This role leads projects through the full development lifecycle while supporting manufacturability, cost, and schedule objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, simulate, and prototype ultra-low phase noise, low g-sense OCXO and oscillator products
Develop compliance matrices covering electrical, mechanical, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Estimate material, labor, development, test costs, and lead times for new product quotations
Lead design and development projects through established engineering processes
Optimize designs for performance, manufacturability, cost, and delivery
Support prototype builds and provide hands-on guidance to technicians and assemblers
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain to support new product introduction
Provide regular project status updates and participate in design reviews
Support production programs related to obsolescence, reliability, and performance improvements
Mentor junior engineers and technical staff
Strong experience in RF/microwave oscillator and OCXO design with emphasis on ultra-low phase noise and g-sensitivity
Expertise in resonator selection, oscillator optimization, amplification, DC regulation, and RF/analog/digital layout best practices
Proficiency with RF/microwave synthesis, simulation, and analysis tools (e.g., AWR Microwave Office, PathWave/Genesys)
Understanding of oscillator fabrication technologies and manufacturing processes
Strong project leadership and hands-on bench-level troubleshooting skills
Effective communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced engineering and production environment
Familiarity with aerospace, avionics, or military communication systems preferred
Ability to work with ITAR-controlled technical data
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
Minimum of 5 years of RF/microwave oscillator design experience
