About the Role

About the role:

A specialist SEND setting near Spalding is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Regulation Practitioner to join their team. This nurturing environment supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, placing a strong emphasis on emotional regulation, wellbeing, communication, and personal development. Through structured routines, therapeutic approaches, and positive relationships, the setting helps learners build confidence, resilience, and independence. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available with an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent emotional and behavioural regulation support to children and young people, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to engage in learning and daily activities.
  • Use trauma-informed and person-centred approaches to recognise and respond to individual needs, supporting learners to develop positive coping strategies and self-regulation skills.
  • Build trusting relationships with pupils, acting as a positive role model and offering calm, reassuring support during periods of dysregulation or heightened anxiety.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and wider professionals to implement regulation strategies, sensory interventions, and individual support plans.
  • Support learners to access educational, social, and life-skills activities by adapting approaches to meet their communication, sensory, and emotional needs.
  • Promote positive behaviours and emotional wellbeing through proactive support, de-escalation techniques, and restorative practices.

Pre-requisites:

Experience working with children or young people who may present with social, emotional, mental health needs, autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, or complex additional needs.

A strong understanding of emotional regulation, behaviour support, trauma-informed practice, or therapeutic approaches within educational, care, or specialist settings.

Confidence in managing challenging situations calmly and professionally while maintaining a nurturing and supportive approach.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Relevant qualifications in Childcare, Health & Social Care, Youth Work, Psychology, Teaching Assistance, or equivalent practical experience are desirable.

Training in areas such as Team Teach, Positive Behaviour Support, Autism Awareness, Mental Health, or related disciplines would be advantageous.
