Sessional Worker - Job DescriptionRole OverviewAs a Sessional Worker, you will support children, young people, and families across a range of settings. Working as part of a wider service, you will help individuals access opportunities, build resilience, and achieve positive outcomes.
This is a flexible role offering varied and meaningful work with individuals who may have complex needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou may be involved in a variety of activities, including:
- Providing practical and emotional support to children and young people
- Supporting and supervising young people involved in community-based programmes
- Acting as an Appropriate Adult for young people in police settings (training provided where required)
- Helping young people engage with education, training, employment and key services (e.g. housing, benefits, appointments)
- Encouraging participation in positive activities such as leisure, cultural and sporting opportunities
- Supporting early intervention and prevention initiatives
- Working with young people transitioning from care into independence
- Supporting parents and carers to develop confidence and effective parenting approaches
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with organisational requirements
