<p><strong>Job Title: Mold Technician</strong><p><strong>Job Description</strong><p>The Mold Technician sets up and changes over molds in injection molding machines between production runs, ensuring safe operation, consistent product quality, and accurate documentation throughout the manufacturing process. This role combines hands-on mechanical work, machine operation, and basic maintenance within a fast-paced production environment.<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Change over molds in injection molding machines between production runs according to established procedures and schedules.</li><li>Train and assist associates in performing preventive maintenance assignments on molding equipment.</li><li>Set up injection molding machines, verify correct tooling and parameters, and operate machinery in a safe and efficient manner.</li><li>Ensure all equipment safety features are in place, tested, and functioning properly before and during operation.</li><li>Record production scrap accurately, dispose of scrap material daily, and ensure all rework is completed by the end of each shift.</li><li>Perform lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures to safely clear equipment faults and restore machine energy in compliance with established LOTO standards.</li><li>Inform the Team Leader or Production Management promptly of any quality or safety concerns observed during operations.</li><li>Complete all required production paperwork and data entry accurately and in a timely manner.</li><li>Inspect and measure parts and finished products to verify conformance to specifications, using appropriate measuring tools and documentation.</li><li>Assist in monitoring and maintaining Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) goals, including Safety, Scrap, Customer Defects, and In-Process Defects.</li><li>Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS).</li><li>Perform routine maintenance on equipment within assigned work areas and make necessary machine adjustments to consistently produce quality parts.</li><li>Operate heavy equipment such as cranes and forklifts safely and in accordance with site procedures.</li><li>Use hand tools and mechanical skills to troubleshoot basic equipment issues and support smooth production flow.</li><li>Follow all plant policies, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines while contributing to a clean and organized work area.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Experience working in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Ability to stand for the duration of the shift outside of designated break times.</li><li>Ability to regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds or more.</li><li>Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and leadership.</li><li>Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Outlook.</li><li>Proficiency in safe machine operation within a production setting.</li><li>Hands-on experience with mold-related work such as mold setting or mold technician duties.</li><li>Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools for adjustments and minor maintenance.</li><li>Ability to follow lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures and other safety protocols.</li><li>Attention to detail in inspecting parts, recording scrap, and completing paperwork accurately.</li><li>Capability to operate or learn to operate cranes and forklifts safely.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Skills & Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with injection molding or blow molding processes.</li><li>Background in mold setting or previous mold technician roles.</li><li>Familiarity with production control practices in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Troubleshooting skills for identifying and addressing basic machine or process issues.</li><li>Experience supporting TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) goals such as Safety, Scrap, Customer Defects, and In-Process Defects.</li><li>Prior involvement in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) or continuous improvement initiatives.</li><li>Comfort working in a general labor role within a fast-paced production environment.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Work Here?</strong><p>You will join a stable manufacturing operation that values safety, quality, and continuous improvement, giving you the opportunity to build and grow your technical skills over time. You will work around injection molding equipment, heavy machinery, and related production tools, including cranes, forklifts, and various hand tools. The role requires standing for the majority of the shift, frequent movement around the production area, and regular lifting of materials and components up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds or more. The facility operates multiple shifts, with typical schedules including a first shift from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., a second shift from approximately 3:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and a third shift from approximately 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. (exact times may vary). You will work in a safety-focused environment that emphasizes proper use of lock-out/tag-out procedures, machine guarding, and personal protective equipment, with a practical, production-appropriate dress code suitable for operating machinery and handling materials. <strong>$17-18.50/hr</strong></p><strong>Job Type & Location</strong><p>This is a Permanent position based out of Lafayette, IN.</p><strong>Pay and Benefits</strong><p>The pay range for this position is $36360.00 - $38480.00/yr.<p>Great benefits - this is where HAUTO differentiates in the market.
