<h3><strong>Transactional Tax Analyst (Indirect Tax)</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Unique Opportunity</strong><br />Our customer is a developing oil and gas exploration and production corporation with an expanding operational presence in the Appalachian Basin. As the company continues to grow, they are initiating a more advanced tax department and are looking for a <strong>Transactional Tax Analyst</strong> to assist and shape their indirect tax operations.</p>
<p>This position is within the Corporate Finance and Tax group and comes with significant responsibility. You will manage transactional tax compliance, assist in audits, and oversee tax technology management while also aiding in the establishment and enhancement of the structure, procedures, and controls that maintain the company’s indirect tax responsibilities. This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious tax specialist eager for hands-on duties and exposure in a developing environment.</p>
<p><strong>Location</strong><br />Partially remote role situated in <strong>Morgantown, WV</strong>, with the expectation of working on-site three days per week.</p>

<h3><strong>Duties:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Prepare and submit transactional tax returns and documentation, including annual filings, business permits, sales and use, severance, property, and state-specific taxes</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Supervise payments linked to indirect and transactional tax submissions</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Execute account reconciliations, assess transactional tax accruals, and record adjusting journal entries</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Gather and present data to support state and local tax audits and inquiries</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Aid in tax-related integration tasks connected to mergers and acquisitions</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Develop, sustain, and amplify documentation for transactional tax processes and controls</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Oversee internal and external audit requests concerning indirect taxes</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Coordinate and oversee interactions with external tax service providers and consultants</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Maintain and back tax technology interfaces and settings across business systems</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Spot opportunities to boost efficiency, precision, and scalability through technology and process enhancements</p>
</li>

<h3><strong>Desired Qualifications:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in corporate tax or public accounting</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools; familiarity with <strong>Quorum</strong> and <strong>BlackLine</strong> strongly preferred</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Exposure to data analysis tools or <strong>robotic process automation (RPA)</strong> platforms is advantageous</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>High level of integrity with the ability to handle confidential financial information</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to clarify tax matters to non-tax professionals</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet regulatory deadlines</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Collaborative, growth-oriented professional keen on taking on additional responsibility as the tax department evolves</p>
