justteachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Norwich that is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Primary PPA Cover Teacher / HLTA to join their team on a full-time basis from September.
This role will begin on a supply basis, providing an excellent opportunity for both the candidate and the school to ensure the role is the right fit, with the intention of offering a permanent position following a successful trial period.
This rewarding opportunity is ideal for an experienced Primary Teacher or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who enjoys working across a range of year groups and is confident delivering high-quality lessons throughout the primary age range. The successful candidate will provide PPA cover across the school, ensuring continuity of learning while maintaining high expectations for pupil engagement and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 to provide PPA cover
- Follow planning provided by class teachers and adapt lessons where appropriate to meet pupils’ individual needs
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment across a variety of classroom settings
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning, and pupil achievement
- Assess and provide feedback on pupils’ learning in line with school procedures
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
- Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and senior leaders to ensure continuity of learning
- Support pupils of all abilities, including those with SEND, adapting teaching approaches where required
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the school and uphold its values and ethos
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with class teachers regarding pupil progress and learning
- Promote safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times

Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or HLTA status (or equivalent relevant experience)
- Previous experience working within a primary school setting
- Confidence teaching across a range of primary year groups
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to different classroom environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to supporting teaching and learning
- The ability to build positive professional relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents/carers
- Good organisational and time management skills
- A commitment to raising standards and supporting every child to achieve their full potential
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
