About the role:
Justteachers are working with a specialist secondary SEN school in Birmingham to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The school caters for pupils with Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and associated learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students during lessons across a range of curriculum subjects.
- Deliver intervention sessions and targeted academic support.
- Encourage independence and confidence within the classroom.
- Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies.
- Liaise effectively with teachers and pastoral teams.
- Assist with exam access arrangements where appropriate.
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils.
- Experience supporting young people with Autism or SEMH.
- Positive behaviour management skills.
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for helping young people achieve positive outcomes.
