About the Role
<p><b>Preferred Qualifications </b></p><ul><li>Master degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.</li><li>7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with experience in public accounting.</li><li>Previous experience in a leadership, supervisory, or mentorshiop role.</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>Job Summary</b></p><p>Responsible for overseeing proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.</p><p></p><p><b>Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities</b></p><ul><li><span>Supervises and coordinates activities of associates performing accounting and bookkeeping tasks. Plans and assigns work and schedules the daily workflow.</span></li><li><span>Ensures that the assigned day-to-day operations are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles, policies, and objectives.</span></li><li><span>Develops, recommends, and implements systems and procedural changes for the general accounting function.</span></li><li><span>Develops and recommends improvements to expedite work and improve accuracy of accounting methods and procedures.</span></li><li><span>Coordinates accounting matters with other departments, locations and divisions.</span></li><li><span>Responds to requests, projects and inquiries from management by providing information, possible solutions and conducting research.</span></li><li><span>Performs other duties as assigned.</span></li></ul><p><b>Nature and Scope</b></p><ul><li><span>Experience provides solutions.</span></li><li><span>Ensures that work is performed consistently with company policies and procedures.</span></li><li><span>Leads a group or team of support, craft, or lower level professional associates.</span></li></ul><p><b>Work Environment</b></p><ul><li><span>Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.</span></li><li><span>Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.</span></li><li><span>No travel required.</span></li></ul><p><b>Education and Experience</b></p><ul><li><span>Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification.
