A modern and growing independent accountancy practice in Wetherby is seeking a Trainee / Junior Cloud Accountant to join its friendly and forward-thinking team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone in the early stages of their accountancy career who is looking to gain hands-on practice experience while continuing their studies within a supportive environment.

The Role

Duties will include:

• Assisting with preparation of statutory accounts

• VAT returns and bookkeeping

• Supporting management accounts production

• Payroll preparation

• Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax compliance

• Using cloud accounting software including Xero

• Supporting client onboarding and responding to client queries

• Working closely with senior team members across a varied client portfolio

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous accountancy practice experience preferred

• Basic understanding of accounts, VAT, and payroll

• Experience with Xero or other cloud accounting software advantageous

• Organised, proactive, and keen to learn

• Strong communication skills

• Ideally studying AAT Level 4 with interest in progressing to ACCA/ACA
