About the role
In this role, you’ll lead on recruiting and supporting volunteers across the organisation, developing effective recruitment plans and promoting opportunities through a range of channels.
As our volunteer support officer, you will:
Develop and deliver a volunteer recruitment plan to meet the needs of teams across the organisation.
Recruit new volunteers through advertising, events and outreach activity.
Manage the full volunteer journey, including onboarding and offboarding, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and data protection.
Maintain accurate volunteer records and manage the database effectively.
Support clear and engaging communication with volunteers, ensuring they feel informed, valued and supported.
Promote inclusive and accessible recruitment practices and help demonstrate the impact of volunteering.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
Experience recruiting and supporting volunteers, with a good understanding of onboarding, safeguarding and volunteer processes.
Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to queries.
Confident using databases and digital tools (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook) with excellent attention to detail.
Proactive and able to work independently and collaboratively, taking ownership and contributing ideas to improve processes.
Excellent communication skills, providing clear, timely and supportive guidance to volunteers.
Be approachable, empathetic and inclusive, building positive relationships and creating a welcoming volunteer experience.
