About the Role
As the Chief of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, I help women deal with all types of urology conditions, both common and complex, including bladder problems and urinary incontinence.
During my medical training, most urologists were men and I felt that there was a growing need for female urologists who specialize in treating female urologic issues. To meet this need, I decided to pursue urology with a focus on the emerging subspecialty of female pelvic medicine.
When I was recruited to start a female urology program at Hackensack University Medical Center, I was excited to be one of the few women practicing adult urology-and even fewer practicing female urology-in the area. Many of my patients have told me that finding a female urologist was important to them, because it made them feel more at ease. I am pleased to be able to help them.
