About the role
Reporting to the Head of Office, you will support the running of the regional office of Joe Long MSP. Day-to-day casework entails responding in a timely and sensitive fashion to issues raised by constituents. You will progress cases by advocating on behalf of constituents to bring about resolution to issues they face, escalating to senior colleagues where necessary. You will also be active in the day to day running of the office - supporting meetings and visits with constituents and local stakeholders and assisting with managing the diary of the MSP. The Office team will play a crucial role in connecting Joe’s parliamentary activities with the issues facing local stakeholders and undertaking projects and campaigns to improve the lives of people in Mid-Scotland and Fife.
Responsibilities
Supporting the management of constituency casework and responding to enquiries from constituents. Tracking and logging issues raised by constituents using the online casework system. Responding to constituents’ enquiries on a wide range of issues, including those of a sensitive nature and escalating accordingly. Advocating on constituents’ behalf with relevant bodies to resolve matters. Keeping constituent records and documentation in line with casework GDPR requirements. Supporting the wider administration of the office, including diary management and correspondence with stakeholders in the region and areas of policy interest to the MSP. Coordination of meetings and visits, accompanying the MSP to take a note of meetings as required. Provide administrative support on research projects and policy work.
