About you
Qualified accountant with membership from ICAI, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar tax-focused role, ideally within Food, FMCG, or Agriculture sectors
Expert knowledge of taxation and statutory reporting requirements (corporation tax, VAT, PAYE, customs)
Proven experience with cross-border trading and related tax implications
Skilled in compliance reporting to HMRC, ONS, auditors, and financial institutions
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus
Excellent communicator, capable of presenting complex information clearly and concisely
Collaborative team player with a proactive approach and ability to work under pressure
What you'll do
Lead all aspects of group tax activities, including corporation tax, VAT, PAYE, and customs compliance
Support intergroup accounting, M&A activity, cross-border transactions, and transfer pricing documentation
Contribute to the preparation of statutory accounts and internal financial reporting
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and controls as part of the Digital Transformation initiative
Provide operational business partnering, supporting key projects and decision-making processes
Ensure strong control environments and compliance across all tax-related functions
