Project Manager
An exciting opportunity for someone to join the Commercial Management function of a niche management consultancy, operating within the defence arena. Based near Portsmouth and operating a hybrid working scheme, this vacancy within the Commercial Management team has been created due to significant growth of the organisation.
Salary: Negotiable plus benefits, pension (7% contribution), 25 days holiday & life insurance
The Role: As a Senior Commercial Officer/Assistant Commercial Manager you will play a key role in supporting the commercial and contractual duties for the company, customers and suppliers.
Responsibilities will include:

- Day to day management, administration, review, negotiation and drafting of contracts and purchase orders – both customer and supplier facing.
- Drafting of flow down terms for subcontracts.
- Drafting, review and negotiation of NDAs, Teaming Agreements and Collaboration Agreements.
- Provision of commercial and contractual support to bids.
- Work with the wider team to deliver profitable commercial and contractual solutions ensuring that commercial and contractual risks are mitigated, obligations are met and required governance is followed.
- Provide advice on Commercial policy to the Directors and to non-Commercial staff.
About You
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following essential and desirable attributes:
Essential

- Demonstrated experience (minimum of 5 years) within the commercial field.
- An understanding of terms and conditions, contract law and intellectual property.
- Proven support to negotiation and contract management activities.
- In depth professional knowledge of Commercial principles, techniques and practices and understanding of how Commercial roles fit within an organisation.
- Previous experience operating in a similar Commercial role.
Desirable

- Ideally educated to degree level within a law or business related field or CIPS qualification.
- Attention to detail.
- Have practitioner experience in defence or non-defence environments.
- Financially astute.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team.
Other requirements

- Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK.
- Candidates will need to undergo an internal BPSS check prior to starting their employment with the company.
- Candidates will also need to either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check (SC level) upon starting their employment with the company. To gain SC clearance you will normally need at least 5 years’ UK residency.
