Purpose of the role
MHIRJ’s network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S. The Manufacturing Structures Technician will fabricate and/or modify structural aircraft parts. This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
Here are the daily responsibilities of a Manufacturing Structures Technician:
Cutting, bending, and forming of aluminum parts.
Riveting, sealing, applying touch up paint, and bushing installation.
Comply with environmental health, safety policies, and procedures.
Fabricate structural aircraft parts.
Interpret and follow aircraft drawings, and technical specifications.
Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Stay current on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to aviation structural maintenance.
Here is what is required to succeed:
Minimum of 5 years of sheet metal experience or sustained similar experience.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
CNC Machine Operations experience a plus.
MRO experience a plus.
10+ years of experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Knowledge of aircraft structures and materials.
Able to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.
Possess (basic) set of tools.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Comfortable working with technology / entering aircraft maintenance actions into a computer-based system.
