About the Role

HR Business Partner

Location: Devon 

Rate: Â£28 per hour via an umbrella company 

Start: Mid-May start 

Duration: 3 months contract

Set-up: Hybrid working arrangement, 2 days per week in the office per week

 

The Role

We're recruiting for a proactive HR Business Partner to establish effective partnering arrangements within an organisation's designated business units. You will work closely with internal clients to ensure a continuous dialogue that promotes a deep understanding of their business needs and priorities in the context of our overall corporate plan.

In this role, you will champion customer requirements within the HR unit, ensuring these needs are represented in the implementation of the HR Strategy. You will be instrumental in developing a culture that supports the management and deployment of the right people with the right skills at the right time.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering: Understand business strategies and plans to identify and remove barriers to high-level performance

  • Strategy & Performance: Drive business performance through the creation and delivery of HR solutions that optimize value and minimize waste

  • Talent Management: Develop recruitment and succession plans to replace and develop staff across all levels of the Council

  • Learning & Development: Design and implement L&D plans to align staff skills and knowledge with service goals

  • Employee Relations: Support and coach managers to resolve complex employee relations issues, including performance, conduct, and health matters

  • Change Management: Support improvement through organizational design and effectively manage structural changes to achieve Corporate Plan aims

  • TUPE & Compliance: Support managers with all TUPE-related activities, including due diligence, consultation processes, and statutory compliance

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Lead on consultations and foster constructive relationships with trade unions and employee forums 

 

Skills & Experience

  • CIPD level 7 or equivalent experience (3+ years)
  • Proven Track Record: Previous experience in a diverse HR unit covering a full remit of issues

  • Casework Management: Extensive experience managing disciplinary, capability, grievance, and absence cases

  • Strategic Advice: Experience providing business-focused HR advice and innovative solutions during periods of organization-wide change
