Job Summary:
The Senior Technical Trainer-Folder Gluer Equipment is the enterprise subject matter expert responsible for developing and leading advanced technical training programs that support high-speed, high-variability packaging production in the e-commerce division.
This role ensures that operators and technical teams are fully equipped to meet the demands of the division’s product fulfillment—short runs, rapid changeovers, high quality standards, and continuous throughput—while driving operational excellence, safety, and scalability across multiple sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Division Training Strategy & Capability Building – Folder Gluer
Design and lead enterprise-wide training programs aligned to e-commerce production demands (high-mix, short-run, rapid turnaround)
Build standardized certification frameworks to ensure workforce readiness across multiple facilities
Develop scalable training models to support growth, demand spikes, and machine launches
Mentor site-level trainers and develop technical leadership capability across plants
Work with division and site level trainers to create work instructions and job aids
Evaluate training effectiveness through performance metrics and operational KPIs
Embed safety as a core competency within all certification programs
Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain and HR to algin capabilities and demand planning
Advanced Technical Expertise
Serve as the senior SME for folder gluer equipment used in e-commerce packaging
Train on rapid changeover techniques, SKU variability handling, and quick setup optimization
Lead troubleshooting of complex mechanical, process, and quality issues in high-speed environments
Partner with Plant Process Engineers, Divison Engineering and OEMs to optimize equipment for flexibility, speed, and repeatability
Standardize best practices for high-speed converting across sites
Ensure all training reinforces safe operation in fast-paced production environments
Ability to travel up to80% of the time to US based locations
Qualifications/Education:
Required
8–10+ years of experience with folder gluer equipment in high-speed converting environments
Demonstrated experience in high-mix / short-run production environments (preferred flexible packaging/converting)
Proven track record of improving equipment performance through training and process optimization
Experience in leading training programs across multiple locations
Strong leadership, coaching, and influencing skills
Preferred
Experience supporting W+D or Garant folder gluer machines
Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement
Background in automation, PLCs, HMIs, or packaging line integration
Experience implementing digital or scalable training systems for distributed teams
