We are currently recruiting for an Apprentice Building Services Engineer to join our small, motivated maintenance team.

The Building and Services team at Glyndebourne maintains the theatre, restaurants and public areas, production departments and offices. We are looking for an Apprentice Building Services Engineer to join our small, motivated maintenance team taking the electrical pathway as you work towards the Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Standard.

As an apprentice, you will learn:

• To assist in the preparation and implementation of planned maintenance routines, report on effectiveness of those routines and make recommendations to improve practices
• To report on any plant/equipment/installations deterioration and recommend required action
• To be proactive in support of sustainability and energy saving initiatives
• Accurately complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) to agreed and specified timescales and write reports as required. To carry out PPMs when requested, inside or outside of opening times. To progress PPMs and ensure the completed reports are returned in an efficient manner
• Carry out reactive mechanical / electrical works and day to day engineering duties as specified by your manager/supervisor ensuring plant & equipment are maintained at appropriate times to suit the business
• To work with Glyndebourne’s Maintenance/Asset management System. This is a software based system used for the recording and submission of planned and reactive maintenance
• To provide Building Services cover in the event of an emergency, and to respond to emergency situations in accordance with Glyndebourne’s emergency procedures

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

GCSE in: English, Maths (grade 4/5 C or above)

Desirable Qualifications

GCSE in: Science (grade 4/5 C or above)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other Requirements

Good practical skills (dexterity) as you will be working on complex systems. Able to manage own workload and prioritize. Ability to switch between projects when required and meet deadlines.

As with all apprenticeships, this requires a long-term commitment – there will be assignments and logbook entries to complete. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a top company, whilst you work towards nationally recognised qualifications.

Hours of Work

The contractual hours of work are 35 per week, Monday – Friday, 9:00 to 17:00. The duration of the apprenticeship is 3 years 10 months.

Salary and Benefits

We can offer a salary of £23,132 per annum.
