Express Employment Professionals has a client seeking an experienced Structural Steel Fitter in the Heavy Steel Fabrication – Aggregate & Industrial Construction industry.
About the Company
Our client is a leader in heavy steel fabrication for the aggregate industry and other industrial sectors, producing large-scale structural assemblies, chutes, hoppers, conveyors, and mining-related steelwork.
Key Responsibilities
Lay out, position, align, and fit large steel components from blueprints and fabrication drawings.
Use precision measuring tools to ensure accurate fit-up.
Perform tack welding for assembly.
Collaborate with welders, crane operators, and shop personnel to position heavy components.
Follow OSHA and company safety protocols.
Inspect work for accuracy and quality.
Requirements
3+ years’ experience as a fitter in heavy steel fabrication.
Strong blueprint reading and welding symbol interpretation skills.
Proficient with measuring/layout tools, cranes, forklifts, and rigging.
Knowledge of tolerances, squareness, and structural steel standards.
Fast-paced, production shop experience.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Preferred Certifications
AWS tack welding
OSHA 10 or 30
Forklift & overhead crane operation
Rigging & signalperson
Evaluation to hire Monday- Friday
