<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Summary: The primary role of a phlebotomist is to assist with various assigned tasks, provide troubleshooting support, offer training, and make recommendations to improve work processes.</p>
<p>Position Responsibilities:</p></div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging samples, maintaining records, decontamination procedures, updating patient information, etc.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Collecting and storing specimens following established protocols.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Clearly and courteously explaining the venipuncture process or other specimen collection procedures as needed.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Demonstrating the use of straight needles and butterfly needles, and understanding all physician orders.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing samples based on test orders.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Verifying test requisitions against scripts, packaging specimens for transportation.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Storing specimens appropriately, ensuring proper temperature, labeling accurately, following transport procedures to maintain specimen integrity.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Adhering to OSHA and DEP regulations, attending department trainings, responding to calls, providing lab results.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Minimum Qualifications: Valid Phlebotomy certification in the state of employment, 6 months’ experience with venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, High School Diploma or GED, minimum 3 years of experience.</div>
