Automotive Leather Trimmers / Trim Operators

We are seeking candidates with experience in automotive trimming, leather fitting, cutting, lamination, quality inspection within automotive interiors. We are also happy to consider applicants with some relevant experience who are looking to build their skills in a specialist trim environment.

This role supports the manufacture and development of premium vehicle interior trim components.

Details:

• Hours of work: Monday to Friday 06:30 am to 14:30pm 
• Rate of pay is £12.72 per hour
• Overtime available based in production needs. 

Role of a Automotive Leather Trimmers / Trim Operators:

Depending on experience, responsibilities may include:

• Hand-wrapping, stretching and fitting natural leather and vinyl onto automotive interior parts

   

• Trimming and finishing components including:

   

  - door panels

  - dashboards

  - centre consoles

  - interior trim assemblies

   

• Cutting, lamination and sewing of leather and technical fabrics using both machine and manual methods

   

• Preparing materials prior to final assembly

   

• Supporting prototype and development trim builds for new vehicle programmes

   

• Working from trim patterns drawings and work instructions

   

• Inspecting materials and finished parts to ensure quality standards are met

   

• Identifying and reporting defects or quality concerns

   

• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and attention to detail

Requirements of a Automotive Leather Trimmers / Trim Operators:

• Automotive leather trimming

   

• Interior trim assembly

   

• Cutting / lamination

   

• Trimming / development trim

   

• Quality inspection in automotive manufacturing

   

• Luxury automotive interior manufacturing

Skills & Experience

• Previous trimming, upholstery or automotive interior experience preferred
• Experience working with leather, vinyl, Alcantara or technical fabrics desirable
• Good manual dexterity and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work to high quality standards
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Reliable and punctual with the ability to work early morning starts

Candidates with limited experience can even still be selected however the rate will depend on their experince. Training can be provided for the right individual.
