Overview
Our client seeking an Automaton Account Manager to drive business growth in commercial and industrial automation. This role is responsible for prospecting new accounts, managing existing client relationships, delivering technical and financial solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction through comprehensive account management. The ideal candidate combines sales strategy, technical expertise, financial acumen, and CRM proficiency to maximize revenue while maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Prospecting
Develop and execute prospecting strategies to identify and cultivate new clients and project opportunities.
Engage decision-makers across multiple levels, including C-suite, Senior Managers, Asset Managers, Procurement, Facility Personnel, and others, leveraging phone, site visits, conferences, social media, and existing networks.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client presentations to generate leads and strengthen brand presence.
Account Management & Client Relations
Maintain and grow existing client relationships through proactive engagement, regular account reviews, presentations, and events.
Develop and deliver technical and financial proposals, including solutions design, pricing, and ROI analysis using standard company templates and models.
Utilize all available resources to expand service offerings and maximize client satisfaction, sales growth, and profitability.
Ensure all client interactions reflect professional collaboration, responsiveness, and adherence to company standards.
Sales Planning & Performance
Achieve and exceed annual sales targets for automation projects, maintenance services, and mechanical solutions.
Maintain an accurate sales pipeline in the CRM tool, participate in weekly and monthly forecasting activities, and report on sales metrics.
Collaborate with the Director of Sales and team members to review programs, optimize sales processes, and implement improvements.
Demonstrate commitment to professional growth through sales training, product knowledge development, and industry education.
Technical & Financial Expertise
Apply technical knowledge in commercial/industrial automation, including experience with Distech Controls, Johnson Controls, Delta Controls, or similar systems.
Leverage expertise in IT infrastructure, network topology, RAID storage, IoT, and cybersecurity to design client solutions.
Perform financial modeling, cost analysis, and ROI evaluation for proposals, ensuring solutions meet client objectives and company profitability standards.
Prepare and deliver accurate, client-ready proposals that combine technical insight with financial justification.
Systems & Tools
Proficient in CRM tools to manage pipeline, track opportunities, and generate actionable reports.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or technical discipline preferred.
3+ years of technical commercial/industrial automation experience.
2+ years of sales experience in commercial/industrial automation desired.
Proven ability to design, sell, and implement automation, energy management, or mechanical solutions.
Strong customer presentation, negotiation, and sales strategy skills.
Solid financial and analytical skills for sales proposals and ROI analysis.
Self-starter with ability to make independent decisions and prioritize multiple opportunities.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with a customer-focused, collaborative approach.
