making an impact for the people and communities we serve.<br></font></span></p><p><font size="3" style="font-family: "Times New Roman";">The Shift Supervisor provides responsible supervision of the administrative and operational security activities and staff on a specific shift in a facility.</font></p><ul><li><font size="3" style="font-family: "Times New Roman";">Directly supervise and manage operations of security staff and inmates/residents on the shift in the performance of their duties.</font></li><li><font size="3" style="font-family: "Times New Roman";">Provide for adequate staffing in areas
supervised; fill in as needed during periods of short staffing.</font></li><li><font size="3" style="font-family: "Times New Roman";">Engage and participate in recruiting, hiring, orientating staff, and other staffing needs in areas supervised.</font></li><li><font size="3" style="font-family: "Times New Roman";">Make recommendations concerning personnel matters and assist in the effective management of facility resources.</font></li></ul></font></span><span style="font-size: medium; font-family: "Times New Roman";"><p><strong><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3">Qualifications:</font></span></strong></p><ul><li><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3">High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required. </font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3">Three years experience in a criminal justice field or other acceptable related field, which includes two years in a supervisory capacity.<span></span></font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"></span>Additional education may be substituted for the experience on a year-for-year basis.<span></span></font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"></span>Completion of basic pre-service correctional officer training and, where applicable, be a commissioned security officer licensed by the state of employment.<span></span></font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"></span>A valid driver's license is required.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3">Must demonstrate knowledge of the practices and principles of correctional facility management; pertinent corrections laws, rules and regulations; and the principles and practices of supervision and training.</font></span></li><li style="margin-bottom: 0pt;"><span style="color: black; font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3">Minimum Age Requirement:<span> </span>Must be at least 18 years of age. </font></span></li></ul><p><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"><font size="3"><em>CoreCivic is a Drug-Free Workplace and EOE – including Disability/Veteran.</em></font></span><br><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;"></span></p></span></p>
