About the Role
Join our dynamic Children's Social Work - Looked After Children (LAC) Team in Shropshire, where your expertise and passion for children's welfare can make a significant impact. We are seeking a dedicated Qualified Social Worker who is committed to supporting vulnerable children and their families. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for children in care and those on the edge of care.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting assessments and developing care plans tailored to the individual needs of children and families.
Building trusting relationships with children, families, and external agencies to facilitate effective support and intervention.
Managing a caseload of children in care, ensuring all statutory requirements are met and records are accurately maintained.
Participating in regular team meetings and case reviews to discuss progress and share best practices.
Providing guidance and support to foster carers and adoptive families to enhance the stability and well-being of children.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
Registration with Social Work England.
Experience working within a children’s social work setting, particularly with looked after children.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in child welfare and safeguarding.
