About the Role
O'Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a major, high-profile infrastructure project.
This is a full-time, site-based role supporting the delivery of a large-scale scheme with significant client interface and strict HSE expectations. The successful candidate will work closely alongside an existing SHE Advisor, helping to maintain and drive high standards across a busy and demanding operational environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day health & safety support and guidance to site teams
- Engage with operatives and subcontractors to promote a positive safety culture
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with HSE legislation and company procedures
- Assist in the preparation, review, and implementation of RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
- Support the permit-to-work system and ensure appropriate controls are followed
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and safety tours
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and close-out actions
- Maintain accurate records and support data input into internal systems
- Support client-facing reporting and interface where required
- Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold high HSE standards across site

Requirements
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within civil engineering or construction
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and industry best practice
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or complex construction projects
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum
- Valid CSCS card (appropriate to role)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels on site
- Proactive, organised, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Desirable
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or Diploma
- IOSH membership (TechIOSH/GradIOSH or higher)
- Experience in high-profile projects with strong client involvement
- Previous involvement in audits and external inspections
