How a Passion for Beauty Sparked a Career at CVS Health
Sara Santilan, Beauty Sales Consultant
For many, a first job is just a starting point, but for Sara, it became the beginning of a 17 year journey filled with growth, learning, and purpose.
Finding a Passion Early On
“My CVS career began as a parttime summer job, and I quickly realized how much I loved helping customers in the Beauty department. It didn’t take long for that passion to turn into something more.”
Over the next several years, Sara stepped into Supervising and Management roles, honing her leadership skills and learning how to support both customers and teams. But no matter where she worked in the store, she always felt a pull back to Beauty.
“I missed the Beauty side of the business, so I returned as a BSC and eventually advanced to FBSC. It’s been rewarding to keep growing within the company while staying connected to the work I’m most passionate about.”
Leading With Heart
Today, Sara’s favorite part of her role is developing and supporting a team of Beauty Sales Consultants.
“I love leading a team of BSCs who care deeply about beauty and customer connection. Supporting their training helps them offer personalized recommendations and create a warm, welcoming experience.”
With nearly two decades of experience to draw from, she finds fulfillment in seeing others thrive.
“It’s especially rewarding to see customers leave feeling more confident than when they arrived.”
Proud Moments Powered by Teamwork
Some of the most meaningful moments in Sara’s 17year journey come from seeing how teamwork across the store shapes the customer experience.
“I’m really proud of the service we deliver and the positive impact it has. The collaboration between Store Managers, District Leaders, Beauty Sales Consultants, SMB, and Field Beauty Sales Coordinators plays a huge role in our success. It gives me a strong sense of accomplishment.”
For Sara, these collective wins reflect the true spirit of CVS Health: supporting one another so customers feel valued and cared for.
Advice for Future Beauty Leaders
For anyone thinking about pursuing a beautyfocused role at CVS Health, Sara’s advice is simple and encouraging:
“Do it. There’s nothing wrong with trying something new—it’s another opportunity to learn. CVS has so many career paths to explore. If you’re passionate about Beauty & Personal Care and committed to elevating the customer experience, this is the job for you.”
Every member of #TeamCVS contributes to a greater sense of purpose. If you're looking for a workplace that values patient care, embraces mentorship, and champions your professional development, then CVS Health may be the right place for you.
