Survey Manager/Land Surveyor

<p>We are seeking an experienced Survey Manager / PLS to lead our surveying department in Houston, Texas. This role is ideal for a licensed surveyor who excels in a leadership setting and is dedicated to delivering top-notch work, nurturing client relationships, and building a strong internal team.</p> <h3><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h3> <ul> <li> <p>Oversee various land surveying projects concurrently</p> </li> <li> <p>Create project scopes, timelines, and budgets</p> </li> <li> <p>Provide technical guidance to ensure accuracy and quality of outputs</p> </li> <li> <p>Lead and guide a team of field and office survey professionals</p> </li> <li> <p>Supervise the preparation of plats, legal descriptions, topographic surveys, TxDOT right-of-way maps, and construction staking</p> </li> <li> <p>Coordinate field activities and allocate project resources efficiently</p> </li> <li> <p>Nurture client connections, act as the main contact, and drive business expansion</p> </li> <li> <p>Create proposals, negotiate fees, and oversee invoicing and collections</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensure compliance with QA/QC processes and firm standards</p> </li> <li> <p>Contribute to firm-wide sales targets and strategic project pursuits</p> </li> <li> <p>Support training, recruitment, and talent development within the survey team</p> </li> </ul> <h3><strong>Qualifications</strong></h3> <ul> <li> <p>Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in Texas</p> </li> <li> <p>Minimum 10 years of experience in land surveying, including boundary, construction, and topographic surveys</p> </li> <li> <p>At least 5 years of experience managing survey teams and projects</p> </li> <li> <p>Proficiency in survey software like AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Geopak, Carlson Survey, and C&amp;G</p> </li> <li> <p>Business development abilities and client interaction experience</p> </li> <li> <p>Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills</p> </li> </ul> <h3><strong>Preferred Qualities</strong></h3> <ul> <li> <p>Experience preparing TxDOT right-of-way documents</p> </li> <li> <p>Ability to foster a positive, collaborative team culture</p> </li> <li> <p>Track record of successful project completion and satisfied clients</p> </li> <li> <p>Passion for mentoring junior staff and expanding the department</p> </li> </ul> </p> <blockquote> <p><em>Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor work visas at this time.</em></p> </blockquote>
