About the Role
If you’ve planned aircraft maintenance in a regulated environment, coordinated depth activity, managed work packs, or sat at the centre of Engineering Control this will feel familiar.
We’re recruiting a Senior Planning Officer to lead aircraft maintenance planning within a Part 145 environment in St Athan.
This is a leadership role requiring operational control, commercial awareness, and the ability to deliver aircraft inputs on time and within scope.
If you understand aircraft availability, turnaround pressure, regulatory compliance, and coordinated engineering delivery then this could be for you.
The Mission
You will take ownership of aircraft input planning from pre-induction through to completion.
You’ll sit between Maintenance, Production, Materials, CAMO and Sales ensuring work packages are structured, resourced and delivered efficiently.
This is not an admin role.
It’s operational planning with accountability.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
• Co-chairing aircraft pre-input meetings with the Maintenance Manager
• Reviewing and assessing incoming work scopes
• Planning and staging aircraft work packages
• Creating and managing work orders
• Coordinating materials and production planning to protect TAT
• Managing communication with CAMO
• Overseeing technical records and publications control
• Representing Maintenance in global planning and sales meetings
Ideal Military Background
This role would suit individuals who have operated in:
• RAF engineering planning or maintenance control
• REME aviation depth maintenance planning
• Royal Navy Air Engineering planning environments
• Army Air Corps engineering coordination roles
• Senior engineering SNCO / WO roles with planning responsibility
• Military Part 145 / MAA-regulated environments
If you’ve managed aircraft inputs, coordinated complex maintenance packages, or controlled engineering workflows your experience is directly transferable.
What You’ll Need
• 5+ years’ experience in airline or MRO maintenance planning (Military regulated aviation experience is highly relevant)
• Strong understanding of EASA / CAA Part-M & Part-145
• Leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong MS Excel capability
• MS Project experience advantageous
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders under pressure
