About the Role

Outdoor Plant Area Manager Location: London (SW3) Salary: Competitive (DOE) Hours: Full-time About the Role We're recruiting an Outdoor Plant Area Manager to join a well-established and highly regarded garden retail business at its flagship Chelsea site. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role where you'll take full responsibility for the outdoor plant area, overseeing team performance, commercial success, and day-to-day operations. You'll play a key part in the wider management team, acting as second in command and supporting the overall running of the store. Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day running of the outdoor plant area, including shrubs, bedding, and outdoor pots Manage, motivate, and develop the outdoor team Oversee stock control, purchasing, and merchandising to maximise sales and availability Drive sales performance against targets, contributing to overall business success Ensure excellent customer service, responding to enquiries and maintaining strong relationships Maintain high standards of plant care, presentation, and department upkeep Support wider store operations as second in command, deputising where required Ensure compliance with health & safety and company policies What We're Looking For Strong horticultural knowledge, particularly within outdoor plants Proven retail experience, ideally within a garden centre environment Leadership capability, with experience managing and developing teams Commercial mindset with an understanding of sales, stock, and performance Excellent communication and organisational skills Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors year-round
