About the Role

<p>Sustainability Consultant &amp; BREEAM Assessor</p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Bristol<br /><strong>Working Policy:</strong> Hybrid<br /><strong>Starting Salary:</strong> £30,000 &#8211; £40,000</p> <p>Are you passionate about driving sustainability in the built environment? We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a <strong>Sustainability Consultant and BREEAM Assessor</strong> to join our clients growing Energy and Sustainability team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the environmental performance of projects across multiple sectors, contributing to a more sustainable future.</p> <h2><strong>Benefits</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Competitive starting salary of £30,000 &#8211; £40,000.</li> <li>Flexible hybrid working policy to support work-life balance.</li> <li>Opportunities for professional development and career progression.</li> <li>The chance to work on impactful projects that contribute to a sustainable future.</li> <li>A collaborative and supportive team environment.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Day-to-Day</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Collaborating with clients and design teams to deliver sustainability certifications and assessments.</li> <li>Preparing energy strategies, sustainability statements, and resource efficiency analyses.</li> <li>Managing project workflows, financial performance, and reporting.</li> <li>Engaging with clients to build long-term relationships and secure new opportunities.</li> <li>Staying informed about industry trends and sharing knowledge with the team.</li> <li>Supporting junior team members and contributing to their growth.</li> <li>Conducting whole-life carbon and embodied carbon assessments as required.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Taking ownership of sustainability certification processes, delivering BREEAM, HQM, and similar rating assessments in collaboration with clients and design teams.</li> <li>Contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects, adapting to varying client and project requirements.</li> <li>Providing a broad range of sustainability services, including planning-stage energy strategies, sustainability statements, and resource efficiency analysis (energy and water).</li> <li>Overseeing project delivery, including coordinating workflows across teams, monitoring financial performance, and managing invoicing and reporting.</li> <li>Supporting business growth through involvement in tender submissions, preparing fee proposals, and helping secure new work.</li> <li>Developing and nurturing strong client relationships, both at project level and across longer-term strategic partnerships.</li> <li>Staying up to date with evolving industry standards and policies, such as net zero targets and regulatory changes, and sharing insights with the wider team.</li> <li>Supporting or managing junior team members and contributing to their professional development.</li> <li>Engaging in whole-life carbon and embodied carbon assessments where project scope and experience allow.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Qualifications</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Demonstrable experience delivering environmental certification projects, particularly BREEAM, with a strong track record of achieving high ratings.</li> <li>Accreditation as a BREEAM Assessor (essential); additional accreditation such as BREEAM AP is advantageous.</li> <li>Familiarity with a range of sustainability frameworks (e.g., HQM, WELL, SKA, Fitwel, CEEQUAL, DREAM, or similar).</li> <li>A solid understanding of current sustainability drivers, including net zero carbon strategies, LETI guidance, and relevant UK regulations.</li> <li>Experience managing or contributing to energy and sustainability consultancy services across project lifecycles.</li> <li>Exposure to embodied carbon and life cycle assessment methodologies (beneficial but not essential).</li> <li>Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, including design teams and clients, across concurrent projects.</li> <li>Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines effectively.</li> <li>Clear and confident communication skills, both in written reports and verbal interactions.</li> <li>A genuine interest in sustainable design and improving environmental performance within the built environment.</li> </ul> <p>If you are driven by a mission to create a more sustainable built environment and have the skills and experience to excel in this role, we look forward to reviewing your application!</p> <p><strong>Sound like an interesting fit?
