Maths Teacher - Rotherham

About the role:

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed Mathematics Teacher to join a well-established and high-performing secondary school in Rotherham, starting in April 2026 (or by May 2026 at the latest). The school has a strong reputation for academic achievement and a supportive teaching environment, making it an excellent setting for both experienced teachers and those looking to further develop their practice.

This position will initially run until the end of the academic year, with the potential to extend into the following academic year for the right candidate. The successful applicant will join a collaborative and well-resourced Mathematics department that is dedicated to delivering engaging lessons and improving outcomes for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality Mathematics lessons for students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and provide targeted intervention where required.
• Create a positive, inclusive and well-structured classroom environment that supports the needs of all learners.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Maths curriculum, including departmental initiatives and enrichment opportunities.
• Participate in wider school responsibilities, supporting the school’s ethos, policies and expectations.

Pre-requisites:

• A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS (or an equivalent international qualification).
• Proven experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge with a clear understanding of effective mathematics pedagogy.
• Two professional references from educational settings.
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
