Job Description The Kinetic Group is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of small caliber ammunition under the iconic brands B&P, CCI, Federal Premium, Fiocchi, HEVI-Shot, Remington and Speer. As the Manufacturing Associate -Lead Shot you will be responsible for maintaining a productivity level in the Lead Shot (Bleimeister) area that is in continuous support of the departmental production schedule while maintaining all quality standards established for the operation. This position reports to the Factory Ops Supervisor and is based out of our Anoka Location. Shift Information: (Q) Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and every other Thursday 6pm-6am (training may be held on another shift) What you’ll do: Able to work in a high temperature work environment and operate the machines to support the customer’s demand by following all WKI’s, SOP’s, PPS’s, or any other applicable documents. Follow procedure to process raw lead to finished shot. Observes the quality of the product being produced and brings any concerns to the attention of the Line Lead and/or Supervisor. Maintains a clean work area in accordance with the Daily Shine Boards and completes this work using any specified process and the use of proper PPE. Able to do changeovers based on Cycle Count board without direction from leadership. If needed, required to run 3 Bleimeister machines during their shift/work week. Able to perform tasks with the highest-level lead awareness: Required to wear a lead air monitor at a minimum of once per year Required to wear respirator for specific tasks Required blood draw to establish base line for blood lead level with possible follow up test as needed Required to practice good personal hygiene as specified in Lead Safety Policy Experience you bring: 1+ years of on-the-job experience, with manufacturing experience preferred Demonstrated mechanical ability Demonstrated ability to work with numbers and carry out quick calculations Strong problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to perform assigned responsibilities under minimal supervision Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with co-workers Above average housekeeping skills (cleanliness of work area) Excellent safety record and demonstrated above average safe work habits Must be medically qualified to wear respirator Must be able to pass Bleimeister Physical Abilities Test No record of disciplinary action at a Report of Conference level or above within previous 12 months You might have: Experience working in a manufacturing environment Two-year Technical Degree in Manufacturing Forklift certified Physical Requirements: Standing and moving about for 90% of the time. Reaching, handling and fingering to fill hoppers, add material and make adjustments/repairs. Occasional lifting and moving objects up to 90 lbs., frequently lifting and moving objects up to 55 lbs. Occasional pushing pallet jacks up to 100 lbs. and pulling pallets up to 120 lbs. Near vision for making fine adjustments and detecting quality defects and far vision for operations of fork lift or other mobile equipment. Must have normal depth perception capability. This position does not require normal color vision. Climbing (ladders to fill hoppers), stooping, bending and kneeling (making adjustments, checking quality, etc.). Mental Requirements: High attentiveness for safety and detection of problems. Reading and math comprehension to understand and interpret quality information (SPC, charts, graphs, etc.), and to complete production reporting. Interpersonal communication skills to problem-solve and to function effectively as part of a work team. Flexibility to move between jobs and to handle many tasks simultaneously. Equipment Used: Operation of hand tools, acetylene torches, forklift, and other mobile equipment. Personal Protective Equipment: All positions require the use of safety glasses with side shields, and hearing protection (hearing protection and non-prescription safety glasses are provided). Further requirements for this position: · Require the use of hard-toed safety shoes with metatarsal protection (Supplied or reimbursed). · Requires the use of a respirator (Supplied) · Requires the use of face shield (Supplied) · Requires the use of coveralls (Supplied) Working Environment: Manufacturing floor environment is subject to constant exposure to noise, heat, vibration, moving objects and mechanical equipment hazards. Exposure to lead, high temperatures on the equipment, and hot water. Work is most often done with and around others and as part of work teams and back-up from co-workers or supervisor is generally available. Work Environment: Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations. Pay Range: $31.18 - $36.10 The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
