Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Secondary School Uckfield, Heathfield, Crowborough areas  Make a Real Impact. Support Students Who Need You Most. We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate and proactive Learning Support Assistants to join a mainstream secondary school supporting students with additional needs, including Autism and other Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a rewarding opportunity to work directly with young people who require extra support to access learning, build confidence and thrive both academically and socially. You will play a key role in small group interventions and 1:1 support, working alongside teaching staff to create meaningful progress. What You’ll Be Doing: Provide 1:1 support to students with additional needs Deliver and support small group intervention sessions Assist students in accessing curriculum content Support pupils with Autism and other SEN requirements Promote engagement, independence and positive behaviour Support emotional regulation and social development Work closely with class teachers and the SEN team Monitor progress and contribute to student development Help maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment Who We’re Looking For: We welcome candidates from backgrounds such as: Education / Teaching Assistant experience Care & Support Work Youth Work Sports Coaching Mentoring Residential Support Any role involving supporting young people Essential Skills & Attributes: Passion for supporting young people Strong communication and relationship-building skills Patience, empathy and resilience Ability to remain calm in challenging situations A proactive and dependable attitude Ability to work effectively as part of a team Experience with SEN or Autism is desirable but not essential — attitude and commitment matter most.
