Cygnet Appletree: Cygnet Appletree, near Durham, is a mental health hospital for women that includes Pippin Ward, a specialist PICU service and Bramley Ward, an intensive support service for women with a personality disorder and complex mental health needs. Your day-to-day… Carry out psychological assessments & provide therapy to individuals & groups Work systemically with staff, as well as directly with service users Consult with staff, families & other agencies about the psychological care of the client group Offer psychological insight & knowledge to the multidisciplinary team Support the clinical, nursing & direct care teams in making skilled evaluations & decisions about risk Evaluate the service, contribute to its development & carry out clinical research. We are looking for someone who is… An experienced Psychologist, ideally with an adult mental health client group Experienced in working as part of a multidisciplinary team Knowledgeable of mental health legislation, risk assessment & risk management principles Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema focused, Cognitive Analytical & DBT Passionate about working with people with a range of complex mental health needs Capable of treating difficulties such as self-harm, physical & verbal aggression, history of sexual offending & drug & alcohol problems An excellent communicator.
