About the Role
Job Description
Five Education is recruiting a confident, resilient and proactive teaching assistant to work with apprentices aged 16+ who are training for careers in construction. Main Responsibilities:
• Act as a mentor and coach, helping learners build confidence, resilience and employability skills
• Support students in managing their behaviour and staying focused on practical and classroom-based tasks
• Build strong, positive relationships with learners, tutors and employers
• Promote independence, good communication, and a professional attitude suitable for workplace environments
• Travel between sites as required to support apprentices across different training locations
Essential Criteria:
• Confident, proactive and resilient
• Experience supporting young people with SEND or behavioural needs (education, youth work, or similar)
• Strong mentoring, coaching or relationship-building skills
• Able to work full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
• Full UK driving licence
• Right to work in the UK – we cannot offer sponsorship or accept Skilled Worker visas
• Able to provide two recent references
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one*
*Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
