Senior Biofuels Trader

<h2><strong>Title: Senior Trader/Head of Biofuels<br /> Location: London, United Kingdom<br /> Retained &amp; Exclusive Vacancy</strong></h2> <h3><em>Imperium Commodity Search</em> is confidentially retained by a well established and growing energy trading business in London.  As part of their diversification efforts and continued expansion of asset class offering, our client is seeking a Senior Trader/Experienced Biofuels Head to join the business and launch/grow the Biofuels desk with full support from the CEO.</h3> <p>As the Head of Biofuels, you will be the subject matter expert on all HVO/FAME/SAF business and have a thorough knowledge of the UK/EU biofuel regulations/sales channels, whilst working closely with senior management on harvesting some excellent longstanding and pre-existing relationships on sourcing in the Far East.  This project is very much a long-term vision with a view to adding headcount and geographical/product expansion in the short to mid-term.</p> <p><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Establish and grow sales channels across all key biofuels markets in the European/Middle Eastern (or other global) markets across HVO/FAME/Biodiesel/Bioethanol/SAF etc.</li> <li>Keep up to date with global biofuel analysis and market movements to guide trading strategy and work with senior management on responsive and agile desk growth/trading approach</li> <li>Develop and grow relationships with Far Eastern/Chinese market producers/sourcing avenues for Biofuels</li> <li>Build out a cross-value chain biofuels desk, working as a partner in the space from raw material through to finished product</li> <li>Build and retain relationships with refineries and end users in the European market to grow sales channels for Biofuels products</li> <li>Ensure Biofuels book is hedged, and risk limits are adhered to whilst driving PnL and volume growth</li> <li>Short-Mid Term; Work with CEO on growing a wider Biofuels team and building a well-rounded/specialised desk to cover all key biofuel classes</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A minimum of 5 years experienced in a physical Biofuels trading position</li> <li>Previous management/desk leadership experience is beneficial</li> <li>A proven track record in the European biofuels markets with a good network in the space at multiple points of the value chain</li> <li>Exposure in sourcing in China/Far Eastern markets is beneficial</li> <li>Good understanding of the regulatory framework around EU/UK Biofuels markets</li> <li>Strong analytical knowledge around the global biofuels markets</li> <li>Hedging/Paper experience is preferred but not required</li> <li>Fluency in English and strong communication ability</li> </ul> <p>To discuss the role in confidence please reach out via email to <strong>london@imperiumcs.com</strong> or contact the team on <strong>+44 (0) 203 927 5090.</strong></p>
