About the Role

Elite Staffing Solutions are working with a fantastic residential care home in Taunton who are looking to recruit an experienced and professional Finance Manager on a part-time basis (3 days per week), office-based, offering up to £40,000 FTE.

This is a key appointment within the organisation, and they are seeking a forward-thinking, competent finance professional who can bring both structure and commercial insight to the role. A core part of the position will involve being diligent in reviewing and streamlining existing processes, helping to modernise systems, improve reporting accuracy, and increase overall efficiency across the finance function.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Finance Manager to take full ownership of financial operations while contributing to the organisation’s strategic growth and long-term sustainability. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is not only technically strong, but also solutions-focused, analytical, and confident in supporting and influencing decision-making. You will play a key role in ensuring financial stability while identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.

The Role:

You will lead and take responsibility for all financial functions within the organisation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the board. This includes ownership of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, alongside the preparation and delivery of detailed monthly management accounts and financial reports to support business strategy and performance monitoring.

You will oversee all day-to-day finance operations, including payroll, cash flow management, purchase and sales ledgers, and accounts payable/receivable, ensuring processes are smooth, controlled, and compliant with relevant regulations. Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures will be a key part of your remit.

A significant focus of the role will be on continuous improvement — identifying inefficiencies, streamlining processes, and implementing new systems where appropriate. You will take a hands-on approach to improving how the finance function operates, driving best practice and ensuring the business is operating as efficiently as possible.
