About the Role
Mechanical Engineer / Maintenance Plumber
Location: Primary & Secondary Schools – Bridlington (7 Sites)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (1-hour lunch)
On-Call: 1 in 4 (£110 standby + 2 hours paid per call-out)
Vehicle: Pool van provided (travel to site only)
Tools & Parking: Provided on all sites
The Role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Mechanical Engineer / Maintenance Plumber to support a portfolio of 7 primary and secondary schools across Bridlington. This mobile role involves delivering both planned and reactive maintenance within live educational environments, ensuring mechanical and plumbing systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) including:
L8 compliance checks
Water temperature monitoring
Tap flushing regimes
TMV inspection and maintenance
Emergency lighting and fire alarm checks
Respond to reactive maintenance tasks including leaks, blockages, taps, toilets, and pipework repairs.
Maintain and repair TMVs, expansion vessels, and associated mechanical systems.
Conduct mechanical fault finding and general building fabric repairs where required.
Participate in a 1-in-4 on-call rota (£110 standby + paid call-outs).
Ensure all works are completed in line with health & safety regulations and statutory compliance standards.
