Our client, a precision sheet-metal manufacturer, has an immediate need for an experienced Cost Estimator, to join their winning team in Southbridge.
Our candidate of choice will be responsible for calculating costs, time, materials, and labor required for manufacture of our products. Some of the primary responsibilities of this job would include:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare and deliver estimates of time, money, materials, and labor needed for projects. This includes analyzing blueprints and specifications to determine the necessary resources.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accurate estimates. Communicate effectively with management and vendors to clarify project requirements and expectations.
- Research: Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure estimates are competitive and accurate.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to assess technical documents and proposals effectively.
- Numeracy Skills: Proficiency in mathematics to accurately estimate costs.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure all factors are considered in the estimation process, identifying potential issues in advance.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with vendors and team members effectively.
- Experience in the aerospace industry is required, and a basic knowledge of sheet metal forming, machining, welding, and other manufacturing processes is a must. This job is in-person only (no remote work)
