Shopify is a core platform across both sides of our business, and we are seeking a motivated intern to support our Shopify development efforts. Job Description We are looking for a Shopify Developer Intern to work across Act Second’s agency and venture teams. The ideal candidate will assist in the development, customization, and optimization of Shopify-based websites for our clients and portfolio ventures. This role offers hands-on experience in web development, with exposure to multiple industries and brands. You will work closely with experienced developers, designers, and marketers, contributing to real-world projects in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Shopify Development: Assist in building and customizing Shopify stores for both agency clients and ventures in the portfolio. Theme Customization: Work on theme customization using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid, ensuring responsive and high-performing websites. Third-Party App Integration: Support the integration and configuration of third-party Shopify apps to enhance store functionality. Content Updates: Help with product uploads, collection management, and general content updates across Shopify stores. Troubleshooting & Support: Identify and resolve technical issues related to Shopify websites, ensuring optimal performance and user experience. Collaboration: Work closely with the design, content, and marketing teams to ensure web development aligns with creative and business goals. Performance Optimization: Assist in optimizing site performance, including page load speed, mobile responsiveness, and usability. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of websites to ensure they meet design and functionality requirements before launch. Requirements Qualifications Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (3rd or 4th year), or a recent graduate. Strong interest in web development and e-commerce platforms. Basic knowledge of front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and Shopify’s Liquid templating language. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Fluent in English (mandatory). Ability to work on-site in Barcelona. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience or internship working on Shopify or other e-commerce platforms. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Knowledge of UX/UI principles and best practices. Basic understanding of SEO for e-commerce websites.
